Last week we were thrilled to receive the first clip of the new National Herbarium of NSW at Mount Annan.
The National Herbarium of NSW is currently located at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, and is one of the most significant botanical resources in the Southern Hemisphere. It houses a growing collection of over 1.43 million plant specimens which are essential for informing and making decisions about the conservation and management of our natural environment.
A top priority for the new facility in Mount Annan will be to give staff maximum control over the environs with precise temperature and humidity control to prevent the degradation and insect infestation of the specimens. As always, these secured and controlled environments pose interesting Fire Engineering challenges, and our team has been thrilled to work with the Architectus team on the design.
With construction due to commence later this year, our team can’t wait to see this project come to life!
